Kidznotes is a music for social change program based on the El Sistema model of youth orchestras, which started in Venezuela and has now spread worldwide.

In collaboration with IBM, my team worked with the Kidznotes organization based in the Triangle area to develop methods to boost student enrollment numbers.

Higher enrollment numbers would support Duke’s research on the effectiveness of Kidznotes by creating a control group for their study.

 Throughout our ideation process, we considered the perspectives of the school administrators hosting Kidznotes, the parents & their children, and the  organization Kidznotes itself.

Throughout our ideation process, we considered the perspectives of the school administrators hosting Kidznotes, the parents & their children, and the organization Kidznotes itself.

 After investigating all possible ways to increase program enrollment, we analyzed our ideas for feasibility and effectiveness. Hearts stood for “impact to users” and stars stood for “feasibility” based on program budget and timeframe.
